You’ve heard of RSS? You’ve seen those small funny tags on websites? You’ve heard co-workers and acquaintances swear by it, but still have no idea what RSS is? Take a look at the following video:

Your task

Sign up for an account with one of the following online feed readers:

Setting up a feed reader

There are two types of feed readers. Firstly, there are feed readers that you use on the web. All you need to do is create an account and log in. Examples of web-based feed readers include Google Reader and Bloglines. Secondly, there are feed readers which need to be downloaded and installed on your computer. The advantage of the first type, web-based readers, is that getting started is much quicker, and you can access them from any computer.

For this task, you’ll need to set up a feed reader of your choice.

Click on one of the above links and work your way through the account creation process. It should only take a couple of minutes. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be ready for Thing 6!

If you already have an account just sign in.
